Come and visit our restored Rock Island Depot on South Main, which also serves as the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission offices.

The Nationally known "Iowa Hat Lady," Alvina Sellers and her more than 6,000 hats call Clarion their home. She has given over 4,000 presentations across the nation, including an appearance on the David Letterman Show.

The 4-H emblem was designed by O.H. Benson in 1907. The original one-room school house, where Benson got the idea for the use of the four-leaf clover as the 4-H emblem, is now located in Gazebo Park near downtown Clarion.

Since 1990 Clarion community has hosted an international convention of Teddy Bear artists every five years. The event is attended by thousands, with representatives from most of the fifty states and several foreign countries.
