Are you considering remodeling a room in your family’s home? Might you be evaluating updates to improve energy efficiency and lower your home’s electric bill? Are you in the initial stages of planning to build a new home?
If so, then visit the display in the 4-H Building sponsored by the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives of Iowa at the Iowa State Fair Aug. 12-22 to get the efficient home building information you need.
Located inside the 4-H building on the south end of the fairgrounds, the display features a modular panel format demonstrating various energy-efficiency topics. You can see detailed information on insulation types and effectiveness; infiltration reduction; external wall construction; lighting options; correct window installation and flashing; water heating; heat pumps; and old appliance recycling.
Representatives from Touchstone Energy Cooperatives will be on hand from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day to answer members’ questions about energy-efficiency measures and rebates offered by local cooperatives.
This is the first year Iowa Touchstone Energy Cooperatives have sponsored the 4-H Building.
